Trash Pick-Up

Trash is collected by Potomac Disposal on Mondays and Thursdays.  It should be placed at the curb in front of your home by no earlier than sunset on Sunday and Wednesday evening for collection the following day or no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection.

Trash is picked up on the day of a holiday except for Christmas and New Year's.  If the trash collection day falls on one of these holidays, it will not be collected until the next scheduled pick-up date.

If your trash is missed once, call Potomac Disposal directly at (301) 294-9700.  If it is missed frequently, please call TMGA at (301) 948-6666.

Only normal household items will be collected.  All trash should be placed out in trash cans with lids.

Recycling Pick-Up

Recycling is picked up by Montgomery County on Thursdays.  Recycling should be placed at the curb in front of your home no earlier than sunset on Wednesday evening or 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection.

If your recycling is missed, call Montgomery County at (240) 777-6410.

Cans and bottles should be placed out in blue collection bins.  Papers should be bundled or collected in paper bags.  Yard debris should be placed out in paper bags.  Tree limbs should be tied into bundles that are no more than 3' long x 12' in diameter.

Bulk Trash Pick-Up

Bulk items that are not metal or hazardous will be picked up for free by Potomac Disposal on the second Thursday of each month.  Items should be placed at the curb for collection.

Metal bulk items such as appliances will be picked up for free through the Montgomery County Scrap Metal Recycling Program.  Call Montgomery County at (240) 777-6410 3-5 days before putting your item out for collection.
